MOVING TO SWEDEN
Used Household and Personal Effects
Customs exemption is granted for household and personal effects of persons immigrating or returning to Sweden after more than one year absence abroad. An inventory of the goods being shipped is required. Our agent in Sweden will provide the customs forms required to clear your goods.
Alcoholic Spirits
Alcoholic spirits are not allowed duty free in a household goods shipment but import is allowed provided that Government taxes are being paid. All shipments containing these products must declare the quality and quantity of same and be shown on the packing list. Products will be retained by authorities and released to owner after the taxes have been paid.
Motor Vehicles
If you wish to obtain customs exemption for a motor vehicle, vessel or aircraft as migrant's property, you must be present during customs clearance so as to be able to answer any questions and furnish any particulars required. Vehicle must have been owned and used abroad by the migrant for at least one year.
Firearms
An import licence is required to import firearms, otherwise they will be seized by customs.
Domestic Pets
All animals are subject to quarantine regulations. Be sure to arrange for quarantine accommodation before moving.
