MOVING TO SINGAPORE

Furniture, household goods and personal effects which the shipper and their family have owned and used for at least 3 months before moving to Singapore will normally qualify for duty free entry. The goods must be imported within six months of the shippers arrival, and must not be sold or disposed of within 3 months after arrival. New items are subject to taxes and duty based on their value.

Automobiles and Motorcycles

Automobiles and Motorcycles are dutiable based on their assessed value. At present, the import duty for Automobiles is 45% plus a registration fee of 150% of the vehicles open market value. For Motorcycles, the duty is 45%, and the registration fee is 15%.

Beer, Wine and Spiritss

All alcoholic beverages are dutiable, and may be included in your household shipment in reasonable quantities.

Firearms and Weapons

Firearms are strictly prohibited. Weapons such as swords, knives or toys guns including antiques or replicas require a permit from the Police authorities to import.

Domestic Pets

All pets require an import licence, and must be quarantined' for 1 month on arrival. Pets must have a veterinarian certificate of health and a vaccination certificate.
